When the Helper Needs Help
Psychologists can suffer from the same kinds of problems that affect the general public. Examples of these problems are depression, substance abuse, marital discord and job stress. Without treatment, these problems can worsen, causing impairment in the psychologist's ability to deliver professional services. Early detection is crucial! The Colleague Assistance and Support Program (CLASP) has been developed to provide information and referral for early intervention and treatment of Orange County Psychological Association (OCPA) member psychologists who want help.
